1855 STATE CENSUS |
This page was done by one of our county's volunteer, Dana Hill, who transcribed and proof read the data from a faded and hard to read microfilm, and owns the copyright for them.
Also please note that the total number of persons in the household does not always add up correctly, but I transcribed them as they were. Plus, not all of the columns had entries. I left them blank
Dianna's comments:
It is important for you to use your researching abilities,
Do NOT contact Dana or me for help to find your surname. If you can
not find it under one spelling, think about other possible ways and look.
We provide the data, you do your research.
When a name could not be made out, it is in italic. Many of the names are hard to read (being so old and poor handwriting) and have several spellings (remember accents made it hard to understand a person, or it is spelled as pronounced), as example: AYER could be AIRER AIER AER.
