My great grandfather, Gus Haile, owned a store south of Wayne City.  When I started looking for more information on hisGeneral Store,  I hit a brick  wall but, I found  information about other business owners.

In 1979, three of us went to a historical library because I was told they had some old phone books' for Wayne Co., IL.  I never found the phone books but I did find the following book, of which is the source for this page:

I am now looking for the 1875 book and will put it on the site when I get it done.
